Weekend Pics

Eliza had a show this weekend.  She did nicely.  A first and a second in the two classes that she competed in.  She has been riding since she was four.  In a family of soccer players, she has found a way to be unique.  No soccer for this girl!!!!

We have been thinking more and more about maybe adopting an older child.  We love and are pretty good at the baby stage, but are wandering if we should be adopting a child that may be harder to place.  Bonding, language, school....a few of our concerns.  Should we try to adopt a sibling group baby and older child?  Any thoughts?

What a big decision! We decided to adopt an older child between 5 and 10 years of age because of the difficulty in placing older children. Also, we have 4 biological children ages 18, 15, 12 and 3. We thought this would be a perfect opportunity to fill the gap in ages. After much thought and prayer, we opened our hearts to adopting siblings, because we thought that it would be easier to bring 2 children into an already 'established' family so that they wouldn't feel so different. We are so excited to be adopting 2 girls ages 7 and 3. We definitely feel like this has been the best decision for our family and already can't imagine not adopting them.
I hope this helps. I know that whatever you decide to do, God will bless!

My heart was so drawn to the older children. We really felt like an infant and older child were what the Lord was calling us to-- He had different plans. I think we will bring A home and then go back for an older girl. Again, the Lord could change our plans!! :)
